Evening Shift – Cleanroom Supervisor

Meridian Medical Limited is a friendly, family owned, medical device manufacturing company based in Littlehampton, West Sussex. The company is growing steadily, and we have room for you! We are looking for dynamic people to join our assembly team. Working in our cleanroom assembly areas, you will always leave work cleaner than when you arrived. Meridian Medical was founded in 1990 by Mr Ian Fenton and was taken over by his two sons in 2017. The company is investing heavily in the facility and staff, and, is constantly making improvements to its procedures and processes. We offer good career progression within our company and many of our management team started as shop floor operators.

Job Role:

Your role will be to supervise our evening cleanroom assembly shift. Our operators are required to assemble, test, inspect and package a range of medical devices. Each production area produces around 30 different products, so, the work is varied and interesting. Example products can be seen on our website HERE. The supervisor will report to the Cleanroom Manager. This is an extension to our current production shift, which will start as 4 team members increasing to 15 over time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising the cleanroom assembly team and quality control personnel.
  • Ensuring the quality of the shift production.
  • Training the assembly staff.
  • Maintaining and managing the team training records.
  • Continuing the production flow of device assemblies to meet supply deadlines.
  • Assembly of drug delivery and mainly single use disposable medical devices and inspection of moulded parts.
  • Checking of finished products.
  • Following company procedures and work instructions.
  • Identifying non-conforming products and/or materials and bring them to the attention of the Cleanroom and Quality Managers.

Key attributes:

  • Experience of supervising a team of assembly operators.
  • Good concentration and attention to detail.
  • Experience of following written procedures.
  • A good work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.

Training:

  • Full training will be given by the current day shift supervisor and Cleanroom Manager for before starting the evening shift.

 

Shifts, breaks, holiday entitlement and rates of pay:

  • Production shift will start at 4pm and finish at 11pm.
  • Friday shifts will be 12:30 – 6:30pm (total 34 hours per week).
  • Holiday entitlement is 28 days for a full-time worker (including bank holidays).
  • The company is closed for all UK bank holidays plus additional closure over the Christmas period.
